I was born and raised in the Akron area, I’ve lived in Cuyahoga Falls for the last 12 years.

I’ve always drawn or painted or created in some way…I just never pursued a career in the field, choosing instead to have a family. Now my kids are older and I have more time and energy for growing and learning and creativity.

Over the last two years I’ve concentrated mainly on developing my painting skills. I love the freedom of expression and the speed at which I can achieve a visually pleasing and emotionally expressive piece with acrylics. In some ways there is a sort of protection in expressing yourself through painting…no one really knows for sure what the artist is thinking or feeling at the time of creation (unless the artist makes it known) therefore the artist only has to worry about rejection of the piece itself, not their own opinions or feelings. I’m not sure if other artists agree with that, but it is definitely true in my case…I love to write, but that takes way more courage in some ways…you know?
