My creative impulses range from writing, to drawing and painting.

I find that painting is the outlet which allows me the most in-the-moment satisfaction creatively, and I rarely begin a painting with any preconceived set composition in mind. I love the way painting evolves organically as the piece is being constructed, and I often attempt to start and finish a piece in one sitting, if possible. I nearly always listen to music while painting, and it influences the mood of my pieces in ways that are always surprising and exciting.

My drawings are much more intricate and detail-oriented than my paintings, and I take many hours per piece to construct them. I like the stability and complexity of drawing, it’s a very different experience for me than painting, and I think the finished outcomes and overall styles are different as well.

I’ve just started experimenting with photography and digital art, and again, the creative experience is wholly unique to the medium.

I try to infuse all of my work with a dream-like quality that equates to my thinking and emotional state at the moment. Most of all, making art is an altogether fun, and fantastically wonderful visceral experience for me. I can only hope that anyone who views my work will come away with a better understanding of me, and will enjoy the work half as much as I enjoyed making it.
